The Albatros Tournament held last Saturday, August 24th, at Cabopino Golf Marbella marked the thrilling close of the summer season. With a vibrant atmosphere and perfect weather for enjoying the course, 100 players gathered to showcase their skills and compete for a spot in the final at Playa Serena, Almería, set to take place on October 19th.
A Day Filled with Great Moments
From the early hours of the morning, the golf course buzzed with energy and excitement. Players were not only competing for trophies but also for the opportunity to advance to the grand final. Every shot mattered, and participants gave their best effort.
Outstanding Winners
- Anna Kangasniemi stood out by winning both the closest-to-the-pin contest for ladies (hole 13) and the longest drive for ladies (hole 9), demonstrating impressive precision.
- Nicolás Otero claimed the closest-to-the-pin contest for men (hole 7) and the longest drive for men (hole 9), establishing himself as a strong competitor.
- Paco Mangas emerged as the winner of the mixed closest-to-the-pin contest on hole 15.
- Eladio Pérez was the big winner of the Scratch prize, achieving an incredible score of 67 strokes and securing his direct qualification for the final in Almería.
Category Results
First Category
- Pedro Díaz Rodriguez-Valdés was crowned champion with 42 points, securing his place in the final in Almería.
- Yury Tabolich took second place with 36 points, earning a trophy and several gifts.
Second Category
- Alejandro González Canales dominated with 46 points, ensuring his spot in the final.
- Joaquín Camacho Valverde finished in second place with 45 points, narrowly missing the top spot, and also received a trophy and gifts.
More Than Just Competition
Throughout the course, players enjoyed a welcoming atmosphere with tents set up behind the green on hole 9, offering snacks and drinks. This not only helped recharge the participants’ energy but also served to strengthen new bonds.
The day culminated with the awards ceremony, followed by a prize raffle that added a fun and exciting touch to the end of the event. It was undoubtedly an unforgettable day for everyone present, filled with achievements, laughter, and great golf.
